THE SHINY COMMUNITY
Community isn't a side project for us, it's a part of how we exist! From backing inclusive grassroots sport, to supporting creative activism, we work with people who are actively changing things for the better locally, across the East Midlands, rest of the UK and beyond!
FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Leage of Our Own
In 2025, we became the main sponsor of League of Our Own, an inclusive women's football league built by Josie Gray and Joanna Holmgren to create space where all women, including trans and non-binary players, can play without judgement.
What started as a six-team trial has grown far beyond that, with a thriving community, a growing waiting list and plans for multiple leagues and tournaments through 2026! We're incredibly proud to back a league that's re-writing what community football can be, and helping more inclusive leagues like this take root across the country.
SHORT FILM
I'M AUTISTIC (AND ALSO THAT B!TCH)
We are officially a financial sponsor and credited community partner on I'm Autistic (and Also That B!tch), a dark comedy short exploring late autism diagnosis in women. The film was created by writer and actor Molly Siobhan Parker and producer Dan Trueman, and centres humour, honesty and lived experience in a space that's often misunderstood.
Our support helped fund production and back the film as it heads out into the world. While we're proud to be featured across the film's promotional materials, we said yes because it's a subject very important to us, and we truly believe in what it's highlighting and why it matters!
ACTIVITY CENTRE
THE CLIMBING UNIT
Not only are we a sponsor at TCU, we're also stocked there. That's right, you can tire yourself out on the walls and actually chill and have a Shiny bev afterwards. Feel yourself compelled to grab a tinny after touching the Shiny sign... if you can reach it, that is. The Climbing unit has over 1100m² of bouldering, as well as training area and circuit wall, too!
ARTS CENTRE
QUAD
Quad is an arts centre on the market place in Derby, showcasing film, photography and design from across the world. We're long-standing supporters! Quad recently celebrated their 17th birthday where we collabed on a Session IPA dedicated to their anniversary. We also have more collabs planned for the future... so keep your eyes peeled.
You can always find Shiny beer at The Quad, with our best-selling Wipeout always on tap at the cafe bar!
DESIGN COMPETITION
DERBY UNI GRAPHICS & ILLUSTRATION
We give the Graphics/Illustration students at Derby Uni an oppurtunity to work with us on a live project, where the winner gets their art on one of our cans (as well as keg badges/pump clips, too!). 2025's winner was Dina with her design for There's No Crying in Karate. Winner and 2 runners up are also given a cash prize for their efforts!
We care deeply about designers and artists here at Shiny, and believe the industry needs to continue harbouring a good relationship with visual creatives as the art world changes around us. Thanks to the amazing team of students and tutors at Derby Uni.
COMMUNITY EVENT
LITTLE EATON CARNIVAL
Each year, we sponsor and take part in the Little Eaton Carnival, which as of 2025, has been running for 100 years!
Each year, they put on spectacular events across the village, of which we love getting involved as the resident brewery/tap room!
